Tree Trimming & Pruning in Sacramento
Tree Pruning vs. Tree Trimming
We prune the right branch, for the right reason. Rather than simply trimming a tree back, we shorten limbs just enough to prevent large-limb failure and keep the tree structurally sound. Some companies over-cut or leave limbs too heavy, which can lead to breakage and property damage down the road. Proper pruning protects both your tree and your home.
Crown Reduction
When a tree is simply too large, we reduce the overall size of the crown — usually no more than 30% at a time, to protect the tree's health and avoid the heavy, failure-prone regrowth that bad cuts cause. Inclement weather can quickly expose a poorly pruned tree, so we reduce carefully and correctly.
Crown Cleaning & Deadwood Removal
We also clean the interior of the canopy, removing deadwood and crossing or weak limbs. This improves the tree's structure, reduces hazards, and lets more light and air through.
Why We Don't Top Trees
Topping — cutting a tree back to stubs — is one of the most harmful things you can do to a tree. It triggers weak, fast regrowth, invites decay, and creates bigger hazards later. We use proper reduction and thinning cuts instead, so your tree stays healthy and safe.
